Hyacinth Schukis works from the starting point of their body and desires to
explore longing for a classical past, known and felt histories, queer/trans and sick
symbologies, replication, and beauty. They are an artist, writer, designer,
researcher, and educator. They make pictures using studio
photography, self-portraiture, reenactment, appropriation, assemblage, and collecting. They hold an experimental MFA in Image/Text from Ithaca College. Hyacinth is from and lives/works in
Portland, Oregon.
